This is really a unique course that is rarely dealt with or delivered, Maqasid al-sharia (The Objectives of Islamic Law) can be seen as the philosophy of Islamic law. While this philosophy is an enlightening insight of Islamic law, it does not define the law, nor does it determine it. However, it does contribute towards understanding the “big picture” and wisdom behind various Islamic rulings.
