Shaykh Dr. Mansoor Ali started his preliminary Islamic studies at the Darul Uloom Coventry Road Birmingham , and later at Darul Uloom Bury where he completed his Alim studies and gained licences to teach in many Islamic Sciences including Quran, Jurisprudence (Fiqh) and Traditions (Hadith). He had the honor of reciting the complete Sahih al-Bukhari to his teacher whilst the other students listened.

In 2001, he went to MANCAT and did A-level Psychology, Sociology, and Criminology. In September 2002, he went to the internationally renowned Al-Azhar University in Egypt where he completed his degree in Hadith studies in 2004.

Upon the Shaykhs return to the UK he enrolled in an MA Program in Middle Eastern studies at the University of Manchester . The title of his MA thesis was ‘The Methodology of Western Scholars in the Study of Hadith Literature’, supervised by Dr. Andres Christman.

Shaykh Mansoor Ali has completed his PhD from the University of Manchester and had also been teaching Arabic at the University as a teaching fellow for the three years. The title of his thesis is ‘Imam al-Tirmidhi’s contribution to the development of Usul al-Hadith’.

Shaykh Mansoor has lectured in many places both nationally and internationally, such as at the Islamic medical ethics forum Conference (Birmingham 2006) and the Lacy Islamic Centre in Seattle , Washington USA . He also travels extensively as a teacher in the classical peripatetic style and has held the position as Imam and Khatib at Ashworth High Security hospital in Liverpool .

Dr Mansoor currently resides in Cardiff and is involved in research projects for Cardiff University.
